About Jessica
I am a licensed counselor practicing in Washington, DC. I offer virtual sessions.
My therapeutic approach is guided by my training in Somatic Experiencing and study of Polyvagal Theory, which are emerging “bottom-up” approaches that take into account the way unconscious, embodied responses are influencing the ways we go about our lives, often in ways that no longer serve us. I will help you become acquainted with your nervous system in ways that are accessible and comfortable for you, while you cultivate a greater awareness of your boundaries and capacities.
The most important part of my work with clients is to amplify each individual’s agency within their own embodied experience, while also taking into account how oppression and marginalized experiences have affected their ability to flourish and access resources. I am informed by Relational-Cultural Theory, which is a therapeutic framework rooted in social justice.

Licensed Counselor

I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, and am adept at navigating topics including kink/BDSM, consensual non-monogamy/polyamory and nontraditional relationships.
As an undergrad I was an English major and am still passionate about art, expression and narrative. Not sure what to do with such a generic degree, however, I immersed myself in various occupations including office administration, food (and coffee!) service, staffing the box office at an arthouse cinema, and teaching knitting and crocheting classes while managing a yarn store.
